Why Leave Us Alone – Five Special
Banzai, I'm Bach!
With that interjection, I can loudly proclaim that I'm back. Rejoice! The blog posts from Happiness' musical inner post again report olives for all interested readers. For how long no one knows but now I'm here to build on this monster blog of ecstatic tribute to the disco era in Norwegian. Probably the only one of its kind. So what is it that brings me back? I could imagine that I was on a study trip to Germany and was inspired to dedicate my life to the highest form of music after visiting the museum of one of the greatest geniuses, Bach. But that would be a lie. I never bothered, I bought paint instead. A more important question to answer is perhaps what happened? What happened to the blog? Honestly, I have no idea. It is not inconceivable that the combination of headaches of too much disco, the dusty idea of starting on the list, that I was exhausted from creative new angles in song presentations, the computer smoked, and that I wrote a book that will never come to print, made me take a break. But now I'm back. And I'm back with what was described by the mixer as "urgent work" that he was not happy with.
What does it do to us? Are we dissatisfied? Of course not. The disco blog is back and then we can not complain. In fact, it's quite fitting that I start over with this song. Just listen (press play on the video in the band and wait until we get to the chorus or no "Why leave us alone? I need you so badly, dont leave me". I know you all have thought so for so long, and now it's over on all pain.I give you
400: Why Leave Us Alone - Five Special
Gurimalla, we start with a funky symphony disco that seems to be a musical for a long time. I can already say, before I hear it finished for the first time, that I am happy that this song is available in an extended version. Yes, because it does. One at 5:54 and one at 10:17, I listen at 10 minutes. But before we start with the analysis. What's so special about these five specials?
Exactly that is difficult to answer. For there is much to suggest that they were not so special. They formed as a band in the disco town of Detroit in 1979 and consisted of Bryan Banks, Gray Linnley, Steve Harris, Steve Boyd and Mike Petillo. It is quite possible that they took the name Five special when they had a career not far from Freddi Adu. Their first hit, this one, melted away with an impressive 9th place on the R & Bcharten. The future looked rosy as the sun shone on their careers. Unfortunately, it was not the sunrise they saw, but the sunset. Why leave us Alone became their only hit, somewhat ironically. Almost so one can hear their bitterness many years later. "Why did you leave us alone, we had so much more to offer." Anyway, three years later, the band was history.Worth noting is that they had as much self-awareness as the Spice Girls who called their latest album "viva forever." Five Special called its latest and second "Special Edition." The only special thing about that record is that very few people bought it.
The drums strike, the bass says bombom bombombodobomdom. Funky guitars come in. A pinao adds some simple but catchy chords and a string sounds faintly in the background before it emerges strongly and leisurely and allows itself a small hit theme. Then the song calms down again. So far the song is basically pretty uniform but then 1:48 the choristers and ooo come. And there the 2:00 verse starts. What is worth noting is that they have treated themselves to a gromsensual vocal bassist who makes the weakest soul tremble in the knees of deafness. I have to say that I really like the "why leave us alone" part. That is, when they sing it. It is a wonderful mass-produced disco that makes today's mass producers turn in their graves in shame! the song proves that all you need is a harmonious phrase, a little strings, discogroove and urgent mixing so there is audible music. The rest of the track is really just playing with what you have heard during the first three minutes. Enjoy, Solitaire did it and sampled it for "you got the love"
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Understanding and trusting
Is what our love is built on
So won't you at least try to
Respect what we're about, hey
Why leave us alone
Why break up our home
Why leave us alone
Why break up our happy home [No, no, no]
Ooh… these changes that you're bringing (Bringing)
I can not adjust to
So quickly
I want to at least try to reach you, hey
Why leave us alone (Why leave us alone)
Why break up our home (Oh, no, oh, no)
Why leave us alone
Why break up our happy home [No, no, no]
I need you so badly
I want you so, baby
We got the children
And our love and your love, ho, ho
Woo, hoo, woo, hoo, woo, hoo
Woo, hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo, hoo
Oh
Why leave us alone (Why leave us alone)
Why break up our home
Why leave us alone
Why break up our happy home [No, no, no]
I need you so badly
I want you so, baby
I need you so badly
These changes I just can not adjust to
Your love, your love
Do not leave me (Do not leave me)
No, baby (No, baby)
Do not leave me (Do not leave me)
No, baby (No, baby)
Oh
I (Yeah) wanna think about it
I (Yeah) wanna think about it
I (Yeah) can even sing about
I (Yeah) might even dance, yeah, so I can forget about it (Yeah)
Oh, baby
Oh, baby
Oh, baby
Oh, baby
