Then his life started over in St. Petersburg.  Billy Stewart, who sang and played keyboards in the ’70s disco band Calhoon, walks around downtown St. Petersburg hanging up concert posters for Daddy Kool Records. Stewart gets paid $2 for every poster he hangs up.  ST. PETERSBURG — Billy Stewart walked into the chocolate shop with an arm full of concert fliers and a roll of clear tape. Kermit The Frog with The Frogettes - Disco Frog (Disco Club Version)

  “Disco Frog” is a song sung by Kermit the Frog on Sesame Street. It was recorded for the 1979 album Sesame Disco!. Kermit later performed the song on The Muppet Show in episode 418. In this version, Kermit wore a leisure suit and danced on lily pads in the swamp. Kermit danced in front of a black background, and puppeteers were dressed in black so that Kermit’s whole body could be used. In some shots, portions of the black outfits worn by the performers can be seen. Kermit was joined by many frogs (including his nephew Robin) and an alligator. Music Video The video of this song is a mixture of Kermit the frog and his female frog puppets singing and dancing in the full moonlight by the swampy waterside and regular people dancing at the discotheque.

  Posted on  October 22, 2016   by  Mr. Groove Disco Lab #33 (Halloween Edition): The Manhattan Transfer – ‘Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone’ (1979) Sometimes disco was futuristic (robots controlled by the beat) and sometimes it looked to the past (New York high society steppin’ out to mingle). The retro vibe gave a boost to  The Manhattan Transfer , a swing-vocal combo formed in 1969 who found a surprise hit with the gospel number “Operator” in 1975. For a few years, the group’s retro ’20s-’30s sound struggled to have hit records in the US, though they broke through consistently in the UK. All this would change with the group’s fourth album  Extensions . One cut, the disco-inflected medley “ Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone ,” became a surprise hit for the group.
