Liquid Gold

Here are some facts you didn't know about this group from the start

 They are from England.

It includes lead singer Elaine Hope, under her stage name, Ellie Hope

They released a disco single, "My Baby's Baby".

Here is the story about their only one self-titled album:

Even having released only one album, 'Liquid Gold' remains to this day one of the best English disco groups. Carried by the masterful voice of Ellie Hope (and her atypical physique), they released their first single in 1978, "Anyway You Do It". The next track, "My Baby's Baby", enjoyed some success in the US, ranking 5th on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, and 45th on the Billboard Hot 100, in 1979.
The next single, the very good "Mr. Groovy", doesn't rank anywhere. This is not the case with "Dance Yourself Dizzy", the track which appears next, and which reached second place in the UK charts in 1980, as well as 26th on the 'US Hot Dance Club Play chart. '.

Note also that in 1979 they released their first (and only) album. According to the pressings, the titles differ. Thus, in North America, we find on the LP "C'Mon And Dance" and "Secret Love", songs that do not appear on the albums released in Europe.

Let's go back to single releases. Successor to "Dance Yourself Dizzy" the very good "Substitute" and "The Night, The Wine And The Roses", which rank respectively 8th and 32nd in the UK charts in 1980. Also released that year the single "Don't Panic" , which finds itself ranked 2nd in the list of titles competing to represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision Song Contest 1981. It is ultimately bad for good since it is the 'Bucks Fizz' who are at 1st place and who are therefore chosen to compete in Eurovision Song Contest: they will win the competition with their "Making Your Mind Up".

Note that the tracks of the group 'Liquid Gold' are co-written or written (for the most part), arranged and produced by Adrian Baker. His style is recognizable among all!
Below, find Ellie Hope performing "Don't Panic": her style, with her dress, her top without a bra and her flower in her hair, does not go unnoticed either ... just like the half-drummer naked!
