Witches (12 ") - Long Tall Ernie And The Shakers (1979)

Originally from the Netherlands, the group 'Long Tall Ernie And The Shakers' released a few albums throughout the 1970s. Their last opus, called "Meet The Monsters" and produced by Jaap Eggermont, appeared in 1979. It pays homage to several famous monsters: the Mummy, Frankenstein, Quasimodo, or the Phantom of the Opera. The title that closes the opus is the long and superb "Witches", horrific disco track par excellence, written by AJ Britnell and A. Treffers. The passages to keyboards and saxophone give it a melancholy dimension. "Witches" is released as a single in a short version.
